Built in 1920s, corner building of the five Tonglaus in a row, the Nam Cheong Pawn Shop is a representative of Hong Kong’s pawn broking industry that helped fuel the city’s economy. This drawing is a capture before the neon signs were removed and renovated by downscaling as per latest building regulation in 2023.

南昌押建於1920年代，是典當業大亨高可寧家族三座戰前大押之一。這座轉角唐樓也見證了典當業對當時香港經濟的促進。本畫紀錄了其標志性霓虹燈牌于2023年因最新的建築規範而翻新縮細前的樣貌。
