Originally located above the Central Station, this striped red-building known as "General Post Office" was built in 1911. The GPO was a landmark of hong Kong Island and responsible for postal services. The accelerated economic development during the late 70s forced its relocation at Connaught Place in 1976 for the Central Station.

建於１９１１年的舊香港郵政總局，是當時香港島其中之一最有代表性的建築物。它那條紋紅磚外牆最爲人所熟識。但因爲配合７０年代末的經濟發展，舊香港郵政總局於１９７６年拆卸並改建爲地鐵中環站。
